Once owned by The Boeing Company, United Airlines is now a subsidiary of United Continental Holdings, Inc. The airline commenced its operation on 30^th June in the year 1927, which was almost a year after it was founded on April 6, 1926. Interestingly, the airline was founded with the name Varney Airlines and it commenced its operations as Boeing Air Transport. Later in the year 1931, the airline was renamed as United Airlines.

Commonly known as United, it is operational in Asia, Australia, Africa and Europe. It is currently looking forward for extensive expansion in Asia and Latin America. One of the best examples of it is the non-stop flights to Beijing and Shanghai.

It offers services to almost all the classes from Premium to Economy class. It's one of the Premium Services named United Global First comprises of seats cum flat beds, LCD TV, Audio Video on Demand, iPod adapter, table and much more luxurious features. Even its Economy class features some of the good in-cabin entertainment facilities like TV at the back of each seat with nine entertainment channels. On flight meals are offered to all the classes depending on their class level.

United Airlines also offers frequent flyer program called as MileagePlus and annual subscription plans like Free Bag Check and Economy plus Access. Since 2013, the airline has also improved its on-time performance to offer better services to its passengers.
