Philippine Airlines has had the privilege to be the first air passenger carrier of Asia. Operating since 1941 under its original name, the airline is one of the oldest airlines in Asia. It transports passengers to 31 destinations in Philippines and 36 destinations across other nations of the world. The major international destinations covered by the airline include Middle East, East Asia, Southeast Asia, North America and Europe.

The airline has its headquarter situated in Pasay City of Philippines. It has two main hubs, Ninoy Aquino International Airport of Manila and Mactan-Cebu International Airport of Cebu City, to operate its flights. Earlier a company of PAL Holdings Inc., the airline is now taken over by San Miguel Corporation.

It is to be noted that this airline has really strived a lot to keep itself operational over a period of time. During Asian Financial Crisis in 1997, the airline was forced to cut down its flights to Middle East, European countries and many of its domestic destinations. However, the parent company San Miguel Corporation has been working towards reestablishing the airline as premier airline brand since 2012.

The fleet of Philippine airlines includes 124 aircrafts, 50 excluding subsidiaries and 74 including subsidiaries. The fleet of the airline is currently maintained by PAL Express Maintenance and Engineering.

The airline offers two types of cabin services namely Mabuhay Class for business class and Fiesta Class for economy class. It also offers Mabuhay Miles program for its frequent flyers. In addition to this, it offers the facility to book the airline tickets online and check the PNR status of their flights.
